Onalaska Water Supply Status Update

Good Morning All, Over the past few days, we have made significant progress in finding and isolating water leaks. Tank levels are now near full. With temperatures above freezing tonight we will no longer need to drip our pipes (water). We are now in the stage of trying to sustain the tank levels and keep water flowing to our customers. Over the next few days, you may experience slightly lower than normal water pressure, rest assured we are working on it.

Once again, we are requesting all customers to PLEASE check your water meter and isolate any leaks found as temperatures warm over the next few days. To check your meter, be sure your water is completely turned off at all faucets in your house and verify that they are not dripping or running. Then look at your meter and see if the red dial is completely stopped. If it is spinning, you may have a leak in your system. IF you believe you have a leak, please turn meter off until the leak is fixed. If you believe the leak is on Onalaska Water Supply’s side, please notify us immediately. This is crucial to enable our system to return to normal! We also ask everyone to Conserve Water during these difficult times.

Additionally, please remember Onalaska Water Supply will remain under a Boil Water Notice until further Notice. To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.

Sincerely,

Jr. Chance
